I am putting together a discussion group for people who identify as submissive or slave. Inspired by Vi Johnson, I am calling this group the Submissive Safe Space. The purpose behind this group is to give submissives and slaves an opportunity to connect with other like minded people and to share ideas, information and resources in a supportive environment.

We will meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30 to 9:30 at Stormy Leather, 1158 Howard (in the city). THE FIRST MEETING IS JULY 11, 2007! Parking is available along both sides of the street. A $5 donation is requested. Stormy Leather has made the gracious offer to waive this fee to anyone who wants to make a purchase while you are at the group! If you may be interested in attending, please RSVP at phoenixkali@gmail.com. I also welcome questions from Dominants/Owners who have a submissive or slave that may attend.

This will be a completely enclosed space in which no person who identifies as a Master/Mistress, Owner, Top (in a D/s context) will be allowed. This space is intended to provide an opportunity for submissive people and slaves to relax, and to speak openly without worry of hurting their Dominant’s feelings or incurring punishment. This space is not intended to be a Dominant-bashing session. It is intended to allow its attendees to grow as submissives and slaves in whatever way they define that. It is intended to allow its attendees to ask questions about, and get support for, issues that they are struggling with as submissives and slaves. It is my belief that every person has something valuable to contribute, regardless of how long or to what extent they have been participating in the D/s lifestyle. Therefore, this group will be open to all genders, orientations, and expressions of submission. It is my intention that in this space we will all meet as equals, and that we will treat each other with respect and integrity.


As with most discussion groups, confidentiality agreements apply. Attendees will be asked not to discuss details of what happens in the group with anyone who was not there. I expect and encourage attendees to discuss topics with their Dominants/Owners after these meetings, but this should be done in a manner that excludes names or information that may identify the attendees. Please note that Dominants will not be allowed to enter the space at all for any reason. If they need to retrieve their submissive, they will be required to do so by phone. Attendees may leave their cell phones on vibrate mode during these meetings for that purpose. Dominants may also send another submissive person to fetch their own submissive. If you are in service to someone and wish to participate in this group, you are asked to check with your Dominant to be sure that these rules will be acceptable to them before making the commitment to enter the space.
